The Rooftop of the Grande Arche in Paris, France will no longer be open. That information in and of itself is not something deeply profound. The reason to mourn this closure is the the Ministry of ecology and long term development, owner of the place, decided to close down the Museum dedicated to video games that was housed in it. Sadly the Museum was open only 12 days – during which 5000 visitors had the chance to actually discover the exhibits. So now, in the words of the staff, their precious Museum is transient, just like the Museum of computer science.
All this to make more offices, something that area of Paris is all too known for. The Museum will announce if it has found a new location. They are hoping to reopen before the end of 2010 or face closure.
