I don’t know if you read the same things than me, 2 days ago there were those stories about this Qantas A380, which was announced “crashed” by medias…. During the flight QF32, between Singapore and Sydney, an engine failure occurred only few minutes after take-off. What happened? The aircraft suffered an uncontained failure of the engine N#2. Was it dangerous? Every failure can be dangerous for an aircraft, but this kind of problem happens quite often, pilots are trained for that, and moreover A380s have 4 engines, They’re able to fly with only 2 engines working. Ok this failure was scary, as You can see on that picture, it affected the aircraft’s left wing. So what the hell is wrong with medias? Well 2 things: sources apparently announced the aircraft crashed, that’s why every media thought that A380 crashed. But it was a A380, the almighty Airbus’ superjumbo, so it was too tempting for medias to hold and wait for further informations to come. You know medias love to talk about the A380 problems, way more than the 787 program big troubles, so if an A380 is about to crash They’re ready and won’t wait for the thing to happen.
