We’ve been playing with WP7 for a few days now (With the Optimus 7) and I can more easily give my opinions about this “new” OS.

First, there are no doubts to me that WP7 is a new big player in the “hall of frame” of the best OS. It is beautiful, snappy, not buggy and it works very well. I like most of the “core” apps, especially the Zune one, which works very well and I really like the market place: You can find apps, games and music in a same place (Google needs to do the same). Okay this market is getting a bit messy because of this large amount of choice, but it is nice to find all kind of things in one place.

Moreover, even if I love WP7, I still think it is lacking some fundamental functionalities: Multi-task, Copy and paste, widgets and some details like fast access for music, .. But I’m pretty sure that with time it will get better. Although, I must say I feel WP7 a bit empty right now, it needs to gain more apps and more functionalities. It really will need to evolve until next year, cause for a V1 it is really really nice but some extras need to be added. For instance, I feel that the main page is under exploited (same for the lock screen), it could easily allow 3 rows (on big devices 2 rows are ridiculous), more personalized looks are necessary too and some widgets/interactive icons too. Anyway, Microsoft still has a lot of work to do, but this “V1″ is really nice. It is just a little bit sad against IOS or Android.
